How long will a tin of formula last me?
I have recently started feeding my almost 7 month old formula instead of breast milk =[ (for reasons I am not getting in to) and would like to know how long a tin will last me for?
She has around 6 bottles per day, each with 7 scoops of formula. Along with that she has 2 solid meals per day.
I ask because I need to buy formula in bulk, because I cannot by it in my small town and need to travel over an hour to purchase tins.
-So say I can only buy it once every 2-4 weeks, how many tins should I be buying for her at a time? Thanks!
I'm in Australia and the scoop is tiny. There are 7 scoops to 7.5 ounces of water. Her bottles are NOT 14 ounces. Ha ha
And yes, those are the instructions on the tin. 'Over 6 months: 7 level scoops per 210ml of cooled boiled water'
Which = 7.5 OZ i think. Jeez I get confused with other countries measurements haha
How big is the tin? Here we get big 1kg and 2kg tins. The 2kg tin usually lasted us about a week and a half to 2 weeks. The smaller 500g tins would be gone within 2 - 3 days. I would go on 3 small cans a week, plus one tin for incidentals... some days they eat more than others. I'd say you'd be safe if you buy 14 tins a month, 2 being "just in case"...
If you get the big tins in your brand, then 3 or 4 tins should do it. If you're worried you'll run out, buy 16 tins this month and see how much you use... you'll quickly get an idea of how much milk she'll go through.
