How about a Halloween Poem?
. . .The Haunting Night . . .
Spooks and Goblins are at my door
ugly things I've never seen before,
howling and screeching oh what a fright
as they descend upon me this awful night.
In hordes they purpose with mad intent
to rob me of my quiet content.
They taunt me and scare me, stomping their feet,
delighting in their screams of "Trick or Treat!"
Who are these creatures gathering in the night
and do they not know they are a horrible sight?
Have they no pity, and have they no shame
or is this somehow they're sick little game?
I'll light my candles, and give them my sweets
I'll laugh at their costumes, and hand out the treats
but we all know the secret game that they play
when we give them our candy.......they all go away.
