There is certainly alot of hype about Scentsy on the internet right now. It seems to be another "next best thing" MLM opportunity. But is there any substance behind all the hype?
As a company and from the product standpoint, Scentsy markets wickless and flameless candles, touting itself as the first of its kind in that particular industry. Also marketed are wickless candle bars, scentsy Warmers, room sprays and car candles.
In fact, the direct selling association (DSA) recently presented its 2009 annual industry awards for outstanding achievement and honored Scentsy, Inc. with the first ever Rising Star Award at the DSA Annual Meeting in Washington, DC.
So, its does appear the scentsy seems to be a legitimate up and coming vendor or scents and candles, all while achieving national recogniation.
But what about the scentsy opportunity?
Scentsy does have a multi-level compensation to this business opportunity, with the income coming from two sources. First is commissions off of retail sales, and then eventually, once they achieve a certain rank level, off of those customers who in turn decide to retail the products themselves.
All that is required is a one time $99 Scentsy Starter Kit, which includes a 3 month personal webpage subscription for that distributor.
So, by all appearances, scentsy does appears to be a legitimate opportunity with a unique candle and scent product.
However, as with any business, the true test for scentsy will be how its in consultants conduct their marketing. How well will they effectively market the product and opportunity? That is the true indicator or any companies success, no matter what unique product or opportunity they offer.
If you are an scentsy consultant, I highly recommend you learn how to properly market either the opportunity or product in order to be truly successful. This is what generates prospects, leads and sales.
