What is the best home made hydroponic system?
I am trying to make a home made hydroponic system for veggies and such. What would be a good set up and what chemicals work the best in making plants grow? Does sodium chloride do any good for plants?
Sodium chloride, NaCl, commonly known as "salt", will kill any plant you put in it. So, no, it is not good for plants.
Hydroponic systems are not all that simple. If you want real success, you'll also need a high-intensity discharge light, probably a high-pressure sodium and/or metal halide. Also, one does not typically mix up nutrients based on a recipe. There are dozens of varieties of pre-mixed hydroponic nutrient solutions that you should use. Then, you'll need to decide what type of hydroponic set-up you'll be using: ebb and flow, drip-down, drip-to-waste, etc., etc. Again, there are practically limitless possibilities for setting up a hydro system.
In the end, you can ask a hundred questions on the internet, or you can talk to a person face-to-face, who can show you the various types of grow lights, hydroponics set-ups, growing media, etc., etc. The only place to find such a valuable person is at a "hydroponics store" or "grow store".
