I have lemon grass and ginger, what should I do with them?
I don't want to buy stuff that lasts a long time because I'm moving out in a month and don't want to take stuff with me. I have:
8 Stalks Lemon Grass
A chunk of Ginger, maybe the size of a breakfast sausage
I also have:
Flour
Sugar
Various spices (Salt, pepper, chili pepper, etc)
Lemon juice
If I could make a dried tea mix out of it, that would also be good, I could easily take it along with me...
You could try to dry out the ginger and lemon grass in your oven, then grind them up into a powder to take with you. But it doesn't seem worth it. Ginger is inexpensive, and I think lemon grass is too.
I know you said you don't want to buy more stuff, but hopefully you are going to eat more than what's on that list for the next month! So maybe use the lemon grass, ginger, lemon juice, & chili pepper to flavor rice, chicken, fish, or noodles.
Using just the ginger, flour, & sugar, you could make ginger snaps or ginger bread... probably need a few more ingredients like baking powder and butter or oil.
You can also slice the ginger very fine, and pour hot, boiling water over a couple of the slices. Let it steep for 5-10 minutes, and you've got ginger tea - which is nice for an upset stomach, but is also good for digestion overall. You could add some sugar and lemon as well.
For fluffy, evenly sized cheese shreds, this is the perfect grater. Its design is based on that of a rasp, the small and efficient woodworking tool. The cutters are especially sharp, which guarantees easy grating...
