No heat, air, or water in upstairs radiators (Weil-McClain Heater)?
I have bled all radiators, downstairs 1st, then upstairs. The downstairs radiators are working ok. When I turn the radiator key upstairs, there is nothing, not even air. But they remain ice cold. Is there something that I can do? I have no mechanical experience at all.
I forgot to mention, it's a summer-winter hookup and has been running all summer to heat hot water. This is the 1st time I turned it on to get heat.
If you're getting nothing out of the upper radiator, it's possible your automatic water feed valve is clogged, or not operating, or adjusted improperly. There should be a manual feed lever on top of the valve which will allow full water pressure to fill the system in order for you to bleed the sytem. It normally reduces house water pressure down to about 12 lbs. There's usually a screen in the valve that can get clogged and reduces the pressure.
