Do you hate being invited to demonstration parties like, Candle-lite, Simply Tasteful and others?
I hate the whole overpriced and "but ours are better quality" trap. I hate the pressure to sign up to host a party. A relative who sells this stuff actually implied that by not hosting a party was hurting her livelihood. Excuse me, when did her income become my responsibility? Anyway I wondered if others hate this whole thing too.
I do, but I make the best of it. During one "game" at such a party, we were asked to guess how much a candle costs. I put $45,000 (to the chagrin of the seller.) I also pointed out that regular tea lights last just as long as the ones they were selling (when the seller tried to make it seem like theirs last longer.) To top it off, I bought nothing. Had some good laughs w/my friends, anyway!
