a. Gasoline is mostly saturated alkanes, but some aromatic compounds like benzene are usually present as well.

b. Alcohol - sucrose contains many OH groups, as well as a ketal and acetal.

c. Candle wax is typically a saturated fat or hydrocarbon, but may contain alkenes and/or alcohols.

d. Cooking oil, as most liquid fats, is unsaturated, as evidenced by the fact that it decolorizes Br2.

e. Because the grease doesn't decolorize Br2, it must be saturated.

f. Antifreeze is usually ethylene glycol, an alcohol.

g. Polyethylene is a very large alkane. It is produced from the alkene ethylene; polymerization removes the double bond.

h. Hydrogenation removes any double bonds present, so this is saturated.

i. Like most liquid fats, peanut oil contains some unsaturated fats.
